Intervention that allows the removal of benign prostatic hyperplasia with laser by vaporizing the hyperplastic tissue or by allowing the enucleation of all the tissue and subsequently extracting it in small fragments.
The I-TIND temporary stent is a simple, outpatient procedure that restores urinary and ejaculatory function in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. This minimally invasive procedure, for which ICUA is a pioneering center in Spain, involves placing a star-shaped stent inside the prostate.
Once positioned in the gland, the stent makes three incisions that will help restore the patient's voiding function within a few daysThe stent, which is inserted under sedation and does not require catheterization, remains in the prostate for five days. After this period, it is removed on an outpatient basis. The stent's own elastic properties allow for the three star-shaped incisions that, as previously mentioned, restore urinary function without impairing ejaculatory function.
