A total of eight specialists from the ICUA team will participate in the Annual Meeting of the American Urological Association (AUA Annual Meeting 2026) which will be held from May 15 to 18, 2026 in Washington DC (United States).
In this edition ICUA will present a total of 11 scientific contributions Our urologists have been involved in these research projects, which range from innovations in techniques such as robotic surgery to improvements in cancer diagnosis, such as prostate or gallbladder cancer.
Innovation in prostate surgery
One of the main areas of participation has been studies related to the treatment of benign prostatic pathology, where our professionals have carried out research such as the efficiency of the HoLEP technique.

Prostate cancer diagnoses
In the field of prostate oncologyICUA presents research related to the use of advanced diagnostic imaging and predictive tools such as PSMA-PET to detect possible metastases and select surgical candidates.

Advances in bladder cancer
Furthermore, in urinary oncology, the surgical procedure of extraction of bladder tumors in one piece to facilitate its diagnosis. The study is IP02-27: Safety and Technical Feasibility Outcomes of En Bloc Resection of Bladder Tumour: First Analysis from the Global ERBT Registry, in which Juan Gómez Rivas participates.
Specialized medical training
Finally, we highlight the role of ICUA in the study involving Juan Gómez Rivas, Moisés Rodríguez Socarrás, and the European School of Urology, dedicated to providing a cadaver training model for learning to perform laparoscopic procedures. The name of the study is IP72-23: Advancing Laparoscopic Training in Urology: Establishing the LUSS3 Cadaveric Model within the European School of Urology Curriculum.
