Dr. Juan Moreno holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Granada and a doctorate in Medicine and Surgery with the thesis “Acute phase reactants in chronic renal rejection”, rated with cum laudeHe began his career in the Internal Medicine Department of the Princesa de España Hospital in Jaén and, between 1990 and 1994, completed his residency in Urology at the Virgen de las Nieves Hospital in Granada. Since then, he has worked as a Specialist Physician in the Urology Department at the Jaén University Hospital Complex, where he has carried out most of his professional activity. At this same center, he assumed the directorship of the Urology Clinical Management Unit in 2010 and, since 2013, has served as Head of the Urology Department.

The doctor is an expert in minimally invasive surgery, specifically in the management of oncological laparoscopy in the field of urology.
Academic activities and membership in organizations
Dr. Juan Moreno currently serves as president of the Andalusian Association of Urology. In the area of healthcare quality, he acts as a professional evaluator for the Andalusian Agency for Healthcare Quality (ACSA) and actively collaborates in the development of... Urologist Professional Competency Manualprepared by said entity. In addition, it has expert-level accreditation granted by ACSA, in recognition of its professional experience and skills.
Scientific activity
More than fifty presentations at regional, national, and international conferences attest to his commitment to research and teaching. He has actively participated in the development of scientific documents and clinical guidelines. He has also been a member of the Expert Consensus on prostate pathology and was responsible for the adaptation and implementation of the Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia–Prostate Cancer Care Process in the Jaén area, within the framework of the Andalusian Regional Government's Ministry of Health, between 2002 and 2005. Finally, in 2012, he participated as a co-author in the development of the Urolithiasis Care Process for the same institution.
