Dr. Juan Gómez Rivas

An expert in urological oncology, specializing in prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer, as well as laparoscopic and robotic surgery, Dr. Juan Gómez Rivas has been part of our unit since 2019.

Current specialization

Their healthcare activity is focused on the field of genitourinary tumorsFrom localized disease to advanced stages of the disease, encompassing both medical and surgical management in its different approaches (open, minimally invasive, focal) of the different tumors of prostate, kidney, bladderamong others. He is also a member of the kidney transplant team at the San Carlos Clinical Hospital Madrid.

In addition to being a member of Institute of Advanced Urology (ICUA) combines his work as a specialist urologist in the Area in the San Carlos Clinical Hospital MadridHe has also worked as a teacher and observer at various prestigious institutions both in Spain and abroad. In addition, he is a speaker and director of numerous national and international courses.

He collaborates as a lecturer in Urology at the Complutense University of Madrid in undergraduate education and as a professor of Master's degree in multidisciplinary approach to Prostate Cancer.

  • Member of the Spanish Society for Surgical Research (SEIQ).

Scientific activity

He actively participates in the world of research as a member of the Health Research Institute of San Carlos Clinical Hospital (IdISSC) within the area of ​​clinical and translational research in oncology. Finally, Dr. Gómez Rivas's extensive curriculum vitae is complemented by his authorship and collaboration on more than 170 scientific publications, monographs, book chapters, and his participation in national and international meetings and congresses.
