4K Cystoscopy

Cystoscopy is a diagnostic procedure that allows visualization of the urethra and bladder using a cystoscope, a thin tube connected to a camera. This test is performed when non-invasive methods such as ultrasound do not provide a clear enough image for diagnosis.

It's a procedure usually performed in the office using local anesthesia, typically applied as a gel. It lasts a couple of minutes and causes minimal discomfort to the patient. If the specialist deems it necessary, a small amount of medication may be taken. biopsy so that it can be analyzed under a microscope by the pathologist. After the cystoscopy, the patient can usually continue with their day as normal.

What is the purpose of a cystoscopy?

Cystoscopy allows for the diagnosis or exclusion of bladder or urethral pathologies, such as bladder cancer, calculations, urethral stricturecysts, diverticula in the bladder or urethra.

Modern cystoscopes are flexible, much thinner, and offer significantly higher image resolution than older models. To further enhance diagnostic performance, 4K cystoscopes have been developed, offering improved image resolution and, through the use of different light spectra, enabling better identification of lesions or tumors.

The 4K cystoscope allows for much-needed precision, especially in the diagnosis and monitoring of bladder cancer. This cystoscope facilitates early detection of the disease and, therefore, timely treatment.
